Our elementary students had a great time learning important fire safety tips and meeting some of the local heroes who help keep our community safe.

A huge thank you to our local firefighters for visiting our schools, sharing their knowledge, and helping our students learn what to do in an emergency. We are so grateful for the time, care, and commitment you give to our students and community!

A teacher can be the person who sees a student’s potential before they see it themselves. The person who offers encouragement on a hard day, celebrates the small victories, sparks a love of learning, and leaves a lasting impact that reaches far beyond the classroom.

This World Teachers’ Day, we are celebrating every teacher across PWSSD who shows up each day with heart, purpose, patience, and a belief in our students.

To our teachers, thank you for believing in our students, investing in their futures, and being such an important part of their journey!

Our kindergarteners have been learning all about our community and the important role community helpers play. They wrapped up the lesson this week by sharing what they want to be when they grow up!

From helping others to serving our community, these little learners are already dreaming big. We can’t wait to see where their dreams take them! 🌟

It's National School Backpack Awareness Day! 🎒

Choosing the right backpack and wearing it correctly can go a long way toward keeping students comfortable and injury-free. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

✅ Use both strapssingle-shoulder carrying puts uneven strain on the body
✅ Keep the total load to 10-15% of your child's body weight
✅ Pack heavier items closest to the back
✅ Straps should be snug but not too tight
✅ Regularly remove items that do not need to be there

September is Attendance Awareness Month. A great reminder that every school day matters! 💯

Strong attendance helps students stay connected to their learning, classmates, teachers, and school community.

Families can help build strong attendance habits by establishing consistent morning and bedtime routines, scheduling appointments outside the school day when possible, planning ahead for transportation, and communicating with the school when challenges arise.

Thank you for partnering with us to help students be at school, on time, and ready to learn! 🤝
