A teacher can be the person who sees a student’s potential before they see it themselves. The person who offers encouragement on a hard day, celebrates the small victories, sparks a love of learning, and leaves a lasting impact that reaches far beyond the classroom.
This World Teachers’ Day, we are celebrating every teacher across PWSSD who shows up each day with heart, purpose, patience, and a belief in our students.
To our teachers, thank you for believing in our students, investing in their futures, and being such an important part of their journey!

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our Kind Kids Day Fundraiser such a success! The kids had an absolute blast jumping the day away, but the real magic was seeing our school community come together!
A few highlights from an incredible day of kindness:
💰 $16,476 Total Raised!
💙 226 Acts of Kindness completed by our amazing students!
🏆 3rd Grade took home the win for the class with the most total donations!
A special shoutout to our 3 student winners: one student who raised the most money and two students who completed the most acts of kindness. Way to lead by example! 👏
Thank you to all of our students, DPC, parents, teachers, and volunteers who donated, cheered, and helped out. We couldn't have done it without you!
Now, enjoy some of our favorite moments from an unforgettable Kind Kids Day!

Choosing the right backpack and wearing it correctly can go a long way toward keeping students comfortable and injury-free. Here are a few things to keep in mind:
✅ Use both strapssingle-shoulder carrying puts uneven strain on the body
✅ Keep the total load to 10-15% of your child's body weight
✅ Pack heavier items closest to the back
✅ Straps should be snug but not too tight
✅ Regularly remove items that do not need to be there
