At Dunwiddie Elementary School (DES) we believe every student deserves equitable access to an education that will allow them to grow socially, emotionally, and academically. DES is committed to fostering the social-emotional needs of our students. Therefore, we offer a soft start to the day and a morning meeting so that our students ease into the school day feeling safe, welcomed, and ready to learn.

Teachers work hard to provide rigorous, grade-level instruction for our students in order to push every learner to reach their full potential. Additionally, all staff members prioritize building relationships with students. These trusting relationships allow students to feel supported, willing to learn from their mistakes, and work through productive struggles. Dunwiddie Elementary teachers work closely with parents and guardians to build a learning partnership so that children feel supported in their education at home as well.
