WELCOME!
Welcome to Lincoln Elementary School! My name is Jane Gennerman, and it is my privilege to serve all our school and community stakeholders as principal at LES. As you begin to acclimate yourself with our school, you will love getting to know our incredibly talented staff who work diligently each and every day to ensure all our students reach their learning goals and are excited about being a Lincoln Lion. Working collaboratively with our students, parents, and one another, we commit to continuously grow in our learning, solve problems collaboratively, and face new challenges as they arise with an open-mind, positive intentions, and heart. Each day at LES we live and work under the premise that together we can make a tremendous difference in the lives of others.
I started my journey in education by earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education (Grades 1-6) from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh in 1991. I then began my career teaching 4th grade in the School District of Menomonee Falls. I also served as the varsity softball coach for Menomonee Falls High School where we achieved a 99-25 winning record with multiple championships. In 2003, I was honored to be named Coach of the Year by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and I have since been inducted into both my high school and college Athletic Hall of Fame for my own personal experiences as a softball pitcher.
Even though I loved my time teaching 4th graders and coaching high school athletes, being an elementary school principal is absolutely the best job I could have dreamed of having mon my career path. My first principalship started in 2005 at General Mitchell Elementary School in the School District of Cudahy. After three years in that position, I moved a litte closer to my home at the time in Menomonee Falls and served the School District of New Berlin as principal at Poplar Creek Elementary School for 4 years.
On July 1, 2012, I moved into my current position as the proud principal at LES where I am currently the longest serving administrator in the District. It is truly an honor to serve our Port Washington students, families and community, and without a doubt the best is yet to come!
Please know if there is anything I can do to support you, your family, or your child(ren), do not hesitate to reach out to me. Everyone is welcome to join our LES school family. WE even have a saying that we all know by heart. It is, "Once you're a Lincoln Lion, you're always a Lincoln Lion." We look forward to getting to know you and your family soon.
Respectfully yours,
Jane M. Gennerman
LES Principal
