The Port Washington-Saukville School District has a comprehensive technology initiative. Several research studies have found that 1:1 programs enhance student achievement in writing, problem-solving, reading, and math. Others have found that 1:1 programs decrease achievement gaps between socioeconomic groups and students with varied learning abilities, and shift the ways that students learn by increasing student engagement with course content and assessments.

- Students will be assigned a Chromebook from their classroom's cart.
- Chromebooks will remain in the classroom cart when not in use, and will be reutrned to their cart at the end of the school day for storage and charging purposes. Grades 5-6 will return Chromebooks to the classroom cart in between class periods as well.
- Should a student need a Chromebook for homework, opportunities to take a Chromebook home will be made available. In this situation, Grades 5-6 will take a Chromebook from their homeroom class cart.
- Students will not take Chromebooks home during the summer or take Chromebooks between grade levels.
Grades 7-12
- Students will be issued a Chromebook starting at grade 7 to carry for educational use.
- Students will keep and use their issued chromebook when transitioning to grade levels 8,9, 10, 11, and 12.
- An inventory of grades 8, 9, 10, and 11 student Chromebooks will be taken to verify the status of the devices towards the end of each school year.
