Dear Port Washington-Saukville School District Community,
Over the past four years, the Port Washington-Saukville School District has engaged deeply with our community to shape a clear and ambitious vision for the future of our schools. Through community visioning and listening sessions, parent and staff surveys, and most recently, our district-wide engagement events on February 20 and April 9, 2025, your voice has helped guide the direction of our updated strategic plan.
In the winter of 2025, we welcomed back stakeholders from every corner of our district including students, families, educators, board members, and community leaders for a shared learning experience with Dr. Bill Daggett, who challenged us to think boldly about “Preparing Students for Their Future, Not Our Past.” His message sparked meaningful conversations centered around the Wisconsin Department of Education’s Career Readiness Standards and our local priorities for lifelong learning, career preparation, and personal growth.
With insight from these discussions and ongoing feedback related to facility needs, staff engagement, and school safety, we have identified key areas for growth that will shape a strategic plan rooted in accountability and aspiration. The result is a living, breathing roadmap anchored by 26 success measures that will guide our decisions, investments, and improvement efforts for years to come.
This plan is more than a document; it is a commitment. It defines the systems and goals that will support our mission to “educate all children to reach their greatest potential.” With clarity and shared purpose, we aim to Significantly Exceed Expectations in every measure to ensure all students are Life Ready, Career Ready, and Learning Ready.
Whether their path leads to college, the workforce, the military, or other endeavors, we believe every student deserves the tools and opportunities to thrive. Our graduates will not only shape the future of Port Washington and Saukville, they will contribute to a better world.
We look forward to sharing progress updates through The Beacon, school board meetings, and continued community conversations. The work ahead is important and we are ready.
Be Great Today,
Dr. Michael McMahon
Superintendent
